This dynamic ongoing introduction course is aimed at the adult student who is curious about what it takes to get started as an actor.
Aimed at skills for film and television, this course targets the actor who is serious about learning all aspects of the craft, and wants a fast track to representation by agencies.
Learn skills to impress agents and casting directors, with a career development component loaded with the necessary tools to land these all-important bookings.

You will graduate from this course with information overload ready to take on advanced studies with a solid understanding of what this demanding industry holds. It's all or nothing!
The fundamentals of acting will be covered, which can be used on stage or screen.
- Introduction to voice and movement in specifically targeted sessions
- Solid improvisation skills needed for commercials
- Audition techniques
- Scene study and character development
- Camera angles and continuity work
- Mentoring and guidance is given in developing each actor's tool kit.
We advise on headshots, resumes, working with agents and managers and union membership.
It's all part of the unique Spotlight Package.
Instructor: Darlene Tait
Darlene Tait is an award winning actor with a 40+ year background in marketing and has been part of the local film scene for over 12 years.
Darlene likes to blend her business experience with the craft of acting and understands the importance of developing a proper actors package to be able to secure an agent and auditions.
Darlene has studied with some of the regions’ best known instructors and almost all working Casting Directors. She has also produced and cast several independent films including the award winning films like The Cameraman (The Cameraman Chapter II is now in post-production) and appeared and/or starred in several others.
Since signing with Ignite Artists (Vancouver, Toronto, LA), Darlene continues to be in constant demand by some of Vancouver’s busiest Casting Directors. She has appeared in dozens of commercials, Hallmark TV and a multitude of Independent Film Productions.
She currently serves as the Vice-President for the Vancouver Island South Film Commission, is Past President of Cinevic the local independent film society, and has served on the Board for Women in Film and Television Vancouver.
