In the Full Throttle Film Camp, teens explore the full action-packed experience of movie making from their own unique perspective, and will delve into the many aspects of the craft: story development, preproduction, cinematography, sound, acting, editing, etc.
Filmmakers will be split into groups. Each group will develop a short 3 minute film and take turn as cast and crew. Through the full collaborative process of filmmaking, the filmmakers will develop new skills and a greater understanding of filmmaking. By the end of the full throttle film experience, the filmmakers will have accomplished creating movies together which they can share with friends and family.
Full Week Schedule
Day 1: Writing. Students learn the basics of storytelling and split into 2 groups to devise/write a three minute script. Each group casts the other to act in their script.
Day 2: Pre-production and rehearsals. Students create a shot list for their script and memorize/ reherease the script they’re acting in.
Day 3: Filming day. Students are oriented on camera equipment and crew roles. We shoot movie #1.
Day 4: Filming day. Students are review camera equipment and crew roles. We shoot movie #2.
Day 5: Editing. Students learn the basics of editing. We collaboratively edit films. Students with their own laptop and editing program can follow along with their own edit if they wish.
Families will receive a copy of both films at the end of the camp.
Young filmmakers will get the opportunity to be directed by locally respected film directors. The movie when edited can then be downloaded to share with friends and family.
Film camps are produced by, Jacqui Kaese: a top acting coach whose students have starred alongside Hollywood A-listers such as: Nicole Kidman, Tom Cruise, Robert De Niro, Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, Jason Statham, Robin Williams, Chris Hemsworth, Jeff Baldwin.
