We welcome students with different abilities to study at their own pace.

Ages 8 - 11 yrs
No experience necessary

Jump into the world of film with Spotlight Academy's Nationally acclaimed Spring Break Film Camp for Kids and Teens, and discover the magic of filmmaking.

During the course the kids will stoke their imaginations, develop a story and characters and shoot a movie, taking on the roles of actors and camera crew.

Enjoying a fun,creative and collaborative experience of making a movie they will gain new skills and a firm understanding of filmmaking.

The movie will be edited by an experienced editor and then premiered at a Spotlight Academy Red Carpet screening. Camp participants will also receive a link to view and copy of their film to share with all their friends and family.

For Kids Age 8-12 years

The Schedule

Day 1: Idea brainstorming
Day 2: Plot outlining, pre-production.
Days 3: Rehearsals
Days 4 & 5: Shoot movie

Instructor: Justin Douglas

Justin Douglas is an actor, interviewer, activist and yogi with many years experience on sets & stages throughout Canada. Justin holds an undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Victoria and civil & common law degrees from McGill University. He hosts a YouTube interview series called “Canada’s Social Change-Makers.” He currently lives in Victoria, BC, with his partner, David, and their two dogs and four cats.
